Prelude Accord Compatability
Ok here is one for all the Honda Tech-Geeks out there...
I have a 5-speed Carburated 1987 honda Accord that is in tippy-top shape EXCEPT for the body.
I am looking to purchase a 1987 prelude with an excellent body but has blown engine, is there a compatability issue between swapping engine parts between these two cars or is it like a Mercury Sable and Ford Taurus (different option package, same engine, older models of course)?
any takers?

It is my understanding that on certain generations of the lude engine will lean toward the back i believe that this is the newer B20 engine where as the Older B20 and/or the B18/16/whatever lean forward.
I've not actually seen the car in person yet only pictures that my friend sent me in e-mail. However I do know that the Valve cover on both my accord and the lude in question is black and not one gold one black or anything such as that.
PS The are both Carb'ed and both 5-speed 12 valve engines

After bumping-long the ol shop manuals, chilton's books, internet, and popping the hood one time and cleaning some **** off the block I've come across the following information about my car and the lude in question
'87 Accord DX A20A1 - 1955cc w/2bbl carb
'87 Prelude A18A1 - 1829cc w/Dual Sidedraft
I'm not that familiar with the Lude engine to know if it will bolt down or up or F'ing sideways to accord engine but it does have similar parts...
my main concern is no to do an entire engine swap, but merely to get one engine running by using the other engines good parts.
I suppose for an answer to this question i would have to know which parts to swap for what. It seems to me that the "A" model engines would match-up to a certain extent...
Could someone PLEASE help me, I'm not liking having to try and answer my own question.

Well it depends on what you want to do, the parts will transfer though. I would put the prelude sidedraft carb head on the 2.0L block myself. Need any more info just ask.
How compatable is the a18 with the a20?
Will the sidedraft actually FIT on the 2.0 block?
With all my researching i've found out that the A-blocks will all bolt down the same inside the existing motor mounts.
What other parts could i swap out that would perhaps give the car a bit more pep?
