has anyone ever replaced the bushings with greasable ones if so did it have any negative effects on it at all

Installed grease fittings in the d-brackets when I installed the bar. Greased the bushing when I installed the bar but I haven't had the need to regrease in 2 years. No downsides of having the grease fittings.

I greased mine with Castrol Marine Grease. Been good for a year now, so I think that grease fittings might not be worth the hassle.

My tape and initial grease up lasted less than 6 months. I typically have to regrease every 6 to 10 months or so. Last time I used some marine grade stuff and it doesn't seem to last any longer.
