Default Running rear sway bar WITHOUT tie bar? Thoughts?

no one looks in suspension forum so..

what is your thought on this?
ST 19mm sway on a 96 Civic with no tie bar.

i was thinking it could be ok, since many cars come with a sway bar stock but no tie bar.

you don't need the tie bar, you'll need a subframe reinforcement bar like an ASR because ek's have weak subframes.

agreed, though i once spoke to a rep from ST and he claimed his stuff doesn't tear subframes, nor has he ever heard of subframe tear out.

i suggest a asr or a comptech!

nevermind the tiebar. you'll be wasting your money and it will provide no reinforcement which all ek civics need due to the subframe design.

buying the asr or comptech bar acts as a tie bar and will reinforce the subframe aswell.

An ASR brace, which you will want anyway, will act as a tie bar. However, people ususally do not use both a tie and a sway bar.

The comptech tie bar is the only one I can think of that provides subframe reenforcement.

It's fine without it. I've never seen a rear tear, and I've only seen two fronts tear on an EK and it was because the 650whp power plant twisted the frame.
