NEED HELP!!! I NEED to know an answer ASAP!
the block i got the head off said ZC on it, the JDM equivalent of a d16z6, but some guy on sohchonda.com said "you will gain little to no torque whatso ever. infact youll probably lose some over the a6 head+cam
the a6 cam is quite "beefy" as we say around here for an OE cam."

The difference he is talking about will be slight, if at all. If anything, your car will be faster all around.
A VTEC cam benefits the low and high RPM, contrary to the popular opinion which is that since VTEC comes on around 4500, it only benefits 4500 +. The truth is that the non vtec cam lobes are ground to make their best power from 0 RPM to the VTEC crossover point, and the VTEC lobes are ground to make their best power from the VTEC crossover point to redline. The result is a power increase throughout the entire RPM range compared to equivalent non VTEC heads.
When will people wake up and realize that ZC doesn't refer to the old DOHC non vtec head exclusively?! Damn, 1000+ posts and you dont know that? Why even speak on the subject then? There is an OBD0 DOHC ZC, and an OBD1 ZC equivalent to the D16Z6, not to be confused with the JDM D15 VTEC. There are no doubt more ZC engines than the two I mentioned.

First of all, I don't give a **** for a d series. I know the ZC is not just the dual cam, but I was under the impression that the single cam was non-vtec. I spoke on the subject because he asked if vtec would make his car slower, and I said no. Instead of going bananas, you could merely have pointed out my error. Thank you for the information, by the way.
