Del sol difference (rear plate)
Hi there,
I have a jdm del sol and it has lights that shine sideways over the rear numberplate (from platic inserts). I have seen lots of del sols without the side lights and it looks soo much smoother. I guess the lights come from the top of the plate??? Is this a modification or do later or different models come out stock with that smooth look? Just thought i'd find out before I go about changing it.

yes they are different in Japan, the USDM Sols have license plate lights in the trunklid that shine down on the plate. I do blive that the plates you are refering to are bolted on and are removable. If you do take them off would you be interested in selling them, if so I call 1st dibs. Hope this helps
Hey,
Thanks for your reply. I am interested in doing the (conversion). The lights do come out but the back pannel also has cut outs for wires etc. So I would be better off replacing the whole lot instead or trying to weld up any bits. I would happily sell you the rear plate assembly. The only thing is I live in New Zealand, but shipping wouldn't be horrendous. I know how hard it is for you guys in the U.S to get JDM parts. I would need to sort out a usdm replacement fo my car too though.

My car is Red, although i'm going to respray it so it doesn't matter too much. But red is preferable as I don't know when i'll respray. e-mail me at oraclecoxon@yahoo.com and we can discuss it further.

If the first offer doesn't pan out for you...I have a red sol that I would be willing to trade the rear panel as well as the top lights and harnesses for yours. Mine has had the USDM badging replaced with the JDM ones as well.
