Oil Annunciator light
Anyone have the annunciator light stay on even though the oil is at the proper level?
I was driving and the light came on at low rpms. I checked the oil (little low) and added some. Now the light will not go off unless Im at 2000+ rpms. Any ideas?

That light comes on when your oil pressure is below 4.3 psi.

If the oil is at the proper level, that usually means you've got a problem with the clearances of your bearings being too loose.

If that doesn't solve ur problem, usually if the oil sender is leaking oil (internally) this oil will create too high or too low of a resistance thus causing intermittent oil pres light.

Its usually not the oil pump though, its usually the bearings have to much clearance. Either way keep that oil at the proper leval

Is the sending unit that expensive or hard to change? The temps are subzero and dont have that much time before I freeze. How can the clearance issue be fixed?
