Default Not really a Honda question, but general ingnition question, please read on!

My friend has a '92 VW carrado GR6.

He has a problem starting his car. The starter winds but the engine doesn't start. After a lot of fidgeting, we notice that spark plug on cyclinder 1 was cut.

Could this be the reason for his engine not firing? Maybe there needs to be some kind of grounding?

What do you think?

ok, uh your post is very vague, so alittle more clearly spoken output from you would help. so the car cranks but doesnt start? is that the symptom?

Sorry for my vagueness. I need to be more clear when I'm asking for help.

When we try to start the car, I can definately hear the stater turning, but the engine does not fire.
And we noticed that one of the spark plug has been torn away from the spark plug.

My question is, would this be a problem? Can this car start with just 5 plugs or does all the spark plug needs to ignite to start this engine?

a v6 engine can run on 5 cylinders, not very well, but it will. do you mean that a Spark plug wire was torn off the sparkplug??was that what you were trying to say?

Take the other plug wires & check for spark. Does that engine have a real distributor or what? Maybe something more simple like bad connections to the distributor or a broken rotor; unrelated to the torn plug wire??
