While installing my system this weekend I had to remove the front seats. I had a buddy of mine put the passenger seat back in and I guess he cross threaded the first few threads of the bolt.

I couldn't get it to go in without it feeling tight like it wasn't going in correctly. I tried using a "good" bolt I had to see if that was the problem but it also would feel like it wasn't going in correctly. I tried just leaving it out with the other 3 bolts in but the seat rocked. So, I just wrenched it down.

When I eventually pull the seat out again I'm afraid it won't go back. Can the mounting point be fixed? Retapped?

Anyone run into this problem?

 

when i helped my buddy w/ his seats, he only had 3 bolts on one and the seat was fine, i'm surprised that yours is rocking. if you have any problems when you pull it out next, try using a self tapping screw.

 

I dunno about a self tapping screw, that would probably just mess the threads up more. I would just try getting the tap, they usually go for 5-15 i think.
