I'm about to chip my P30. I popped the lid and found a circuit board covering the area that the eprom goes in. I was worried about putting a zif there because I don't think it would clear this second board. Anyone has any idea what the second board does because I've seen jdm ecu's without them. Thanks!!

 

usually that is the knock sensor board.

 

anyone point in keeping the knock sensor? I hear they aren't really reliable. Can I just remove this board and disable knock in MISC in uberdata?

solder the socket but not the ZIF. use te ZIF only when you tune. I have a JDM P72.

 

I took the knock board out, disabled knock, baro, and injector test. Runs fine and everything fit
