I'll make it quick.

Was driving the other day, and all my lights went dim.

Brand new battery, full charge.. Thought it was the alternator.

Changed the Alt, then charged the battery back up, and now the battery light is on. Any suggestions?

 

Check to make sure your alternator belt is tight.

Update:

Took the NEW alt off
Brought it back
It Failed the test.
For ***** and giggles they tested the OLD ALT and it PASSED.

Is it possible that

a. I got a broken (brand new) alternater from the parts store?
and
b. My old alternator is intermittenly working? (sometime yes, sometimes no)

Check your ALT fuse, i think it is in the dash fuse box. Have seen that cause simptoms like this before...

 

i got three dead alternators from discount auto parts in a row... i got an oem one from honda worked like a ******* champ.

 

don't have a book.. you have a scan of the schem? or which fuse is it?
