Well, well, well.....what do we have here? Another theif? No, it couldn't be, not just 5 months after taking my 1st teg. But it is and this time............I was ready.

Like b4, my dogs were barking all freaking night and I was up everytime looking out around the house, turning flood lights on outside, looking around outside............and finding nothing. A few hrs later, same thing. WTF? So finally my wife was up with me one time and swore she saw someone's shadow outside. :roll: "Babe, you say that all the time." Back to bed. Not too much later, same thing. So this time I have 2 flood lights hitting the teg. One from the front, one from the back. Kinda like DP . So I'm standing there in my door way with the carprot light off and the Xterra is the only thing between me and my car. (I'm standing in the dark) This time I thought I had heard someone walking through the leaves in the front yard, so I waited a little longer this time.

Sure enough, as GSR's redline at 8K, a punk kid comes outta the dark from across the street carrying an unidentifiable tool in his left hand. I pop the carport light on and he's like . "Hey is this your car?" "Uh, yeah." "Is it for sale?" "NO!" "Ok, thanks" and he runs off into the dark across the street to a new neighborhood. I call the cops they are just late enough to let them get away. :evil:

And what did they get away with? 6 lugnuts off my passenger side wheels. They weren't prepared for the looking lugs but came back for 6 more I guess :-? . Now I'm sleepy as all get out and need to go to bed. He are a few pics of the teg missing a few lugs: (I didnt feel like rotating the last pic b/c it was so early, but look what they and the cops left behind)

 

this is why you have to get locking lugs...i got aftermarket rims...but even on OEM ones I'm rocking for the winter I put the lock nuts on ...just in case

wtf was that scumbag trying to do?? was he trying to sabotage your car or what by taking off the lugs and hoping you would drive away like that and have your wheels come off?? What a ******* loser. I would have beat his *** with that ******* socket wrench. I always look at my wheels before I drive becuase of **** like that. Oh well good looking out bro, and if he comes back and you see him chase after him and beat him down.

 

You're too nice of a guy. If or when I catch someone doing that, I'll be looking 25 to life. Cops are not going to do anything. Why do you think thieves do that? Because it's easy, makes easy money, and if they get caught, they'll get let off with a warning. Hopefully for them, they don't meet the "wrong" car owners, then it's all over.

wow man, good job on that and props to your dog and your flood lights. If anything like that ever happens again with the dogs barking ever 30 min or so and it seems odd to you or your spouse, feel free to call the local police department and they'll send a patrol your way and look around in your area. they will stop anyone who looks suspicious in the middle of the night out armed with a tool in their hand.

 

when i heard the noise, i would have ducked down and let him get close enough to the car and doing his thing, then i would have ran over and beat his *** unconscious, then called the cops and told them you caught him looking in the windows of your house

I agree. I don't understand how you could've had that much self control. I woulda had the adrenaline rush of a lifetime, including when u turned the light on, and whooped his *** right there.

Yeah I have locking lugs thats y one is left on the two tires. The reason I have self control is b/c I have a family; a wife and 2 yr old. Plus I don't own a gun and I didn't know what this kid had or if he had some friends around the corner. Cops fingerprinted it and it looks like crap now (getting it detailed today) but the kid never touched the car Oh well, I probably won't hear anything back from the popo but at least I still have my car

BTW We're building a garage for Christmas so it'll be kept in doors from now own.

 

Don't you hate it how people have no respect these days. I mean how much do stock lugs cost, they would rather steal then pay a small amount of money. Too bad the law is not, each time one is caught stealing they get a hand cut off. They would maybe learn from that. I can understand how you played it cool with the whole thing, with the fam inside it's not worth it. Even though the thought of seeing someone messing around with my car, oh man i'd be pissed. Do you have an alarm on the car? Good thing you still have your car, the garage will be nice not only to store the car but to be able to work in a garage is a nice bonus

 

Yeah I have an alarm and it surprised me that it didn't go off with them pulling on the lugs and all. I know its still hooked up b/c it went off on me this morning (my remote is acting weird)

Good to see you actually think, instead of these crazy guys. Family is the most important thing over any situation. YOu would not want revenge nor any harm coming towards your family after you have beated the **** out of them, and took em out in court, etc....

Nothing is worth more then your family.. As long as you keep precautions for your car now.
