vtec wiring on mini-me searched and still really confused

vtec wiring on mini-me searched and still really confused
ok i cut the vtec plugs off of my ex wiring harness and i cut the ecu plugs off of the ex cause its junk and im reading that i didnt need to do that cause my car is already wired for vtec or something thats what im confused about, but anyways what i just wanna do is take my home made harness( 3 wires and run them straight through the firewall into the ecu now i have the p28 ecu and the original plugs i just need to pin them out and solder them up and plug them into the stock harness? also i have a new vafc and would like to wire this up as well while im in the middle of this just to get it out of the way... and pics would be great and pointers as well ive driven my car way to long without vtec and would like to enjoy it once again... thanks guys
