Default FS: 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder - $8000 / Offer

1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS-T

UPDATE: ACT 2600 CLUTCH INSTALLED, PRICE LOWERED.
UPDATE 2: Big 16g Turbo Installed

55,000 original Miles
10,000 miles on rebuilt engine

I bought this car last spring, it is for sure one of the most fun cars to drive with the top down. The convertible top is fully powered, so all you have to do is press a button and unlock it and it goes down (no need to get out of the car). The previous owner had the entire engine rebuilt right before I bought it (he had plans to make it a project car). I just bought a rebuilt transmission and a new clutch for it this week.

Basically, this is a very quick Spyder, I've had it tuned on the Dyno, all of the supporting mods done right. It ran 14.2 on pump gas and worn out tires at the track; with slicks it could for sure be in the 13's. The 14b turbo pulls considerably harder then the stock T-25, if you doubt it, ask the Evo or the STi how much faster it is. Many people on Fargostreet can vouch for it.

It's a great car to drive around in, its not a full race car, but its got the power to be alot of fun. So, your wondering why I am selling it. Well, in the past half of a year that I've had this car, I've sunk a ton of money in to modifying it, and it getting to the point, where I'd like to go even bigger. Basically, I was looking to put a Front Mount Intercooler, Bigger injectors, and a large turbo in... and honestly I don't even know why. So, after alot of consideration, I'd like to purchase a car that I wouldn't be constantly modifying, a 4-door sedan, something with more luxary then performance. Sure, make fun of me, but I think in the long run, I won't have to be constantly feeding the addiction of buying more and more parts.

I'm going to be honest and list all of the known problems that the car has:

1) The paint is in very good condition, however, it has been repainted by the previous owner. The front bumper has a few spider cracks (which is common for anything that flexes), and there is a spider crack behind the drivers side door. Other then that, I just had the car buffed, and the paint is in great condition.

2) The interior panel by the door handle is cracked, its been fixed, but I just thought i'd note it, it's very very hard to notice, but I thought i'd mention it.

There's really nothing wrong with the car, it idle's like stock, it doesnt show any signs of crankwalk, it's got low miles for the year, all of the factory power options (such as the antenna) work properly.

Alright, so now about pricing. Now I know, you can never expect to get out what you put in to a car; I wont even try to get close. With all of the modifications, new tranny, clutch, rebuilt engine, new convertible top (that was NOT cheap), and up keep, it's hard to know what to put it at.

Now you can look up the book value of the car, but honestly, I dont think that value applys so much, when your talking about what's gone in to a car.

Kelly Blue Book Value for Excellent Condition:
Private Party Value $9,270

Kelly Blue Book Value for Good Condition:
Private Party Value $8,640

So we'll start it at $8000 / OBO, if it seems unreasonable, let me know, make an offer; just keep in mind that very close to, or just a little over $5000 has been put in to it.

Vouch from Mitch Hogue:

Kelly Blue Book Value for Good Condition:
Private Party Value $8,640

If somebody is looking for a spyder and they are not willing to spend the price listed above, they should probably take a long hard look at what they are doing. I challenge anyone to find a spyder with 10k miles or less on the drivetrain and in as good a shape as this one here. It looks a lot better having changed the top from tan to black...

....and its not every day you see one walk an STI on the interstate : )

Thanks for the bumps, I know the wheel's aren't the best, but easily replaced, and the cheap cost keeps the price of the car down.
