How many miles are on your engines???
I just got a supercharger installed on my 97 Civic EX and I was just curious how long they last (I'm not an idiot, I do take care of my car). I was wondering how long they can take it.

I still have Greddy Turbo kit on my Civic.. I put it on my car and it only had 70,000 miles on it.. SO right now I use it almost 2 years and my car is 100,000 miles.. There is no problem at all but I already change new Tranny and ACT SS clutch.. IT run strong and stay 10 pound of boost..

Re: How many miles are on your engines??? (JDM EX)
Now, I've heard that honda's are notoriously reliable... I know some people who road race and autocross at redline and beyond for damn near 125,000 miles. I didn't think about engine reliablity before I got the supercharger installed, now I'm worried. Thanks for responding. Anyone have anymore posts on this?

Replaced it with a 1995 Acura Integra GSR motor (B18C1) with 57,000 miles on it. Supercharged it 12,000 miles later. 12,000 miles later, several drag track racing sessions, and one road racing session later, little to no problems (minimal problems - one loose supercharger mount bolt, and a dead Fast Idle Vavle - don't worry, that's a GSR only item, and is not present on your Civic).
Honda reliability.
I was watching "Two Guys Garage" on The Speed Channel today, and they had a 1999 Malibu with a dead computer and one bad coil. GM junk:

LOL!!! I really don't beat on my car. I never get past redline and normally shift at 4000. Granted, I have fun, I don't go crazy though. This is some great info, keep it coming

I sold my 88 Civic STD with 218,XXX on it and it's still running strong and has never had any engine work other than regular tune-up maintenance. I ran that car hard - blew the radiator and overheated it so bad, never warped the head or did any noticeable damage - the car refuses to die!!!
My stock VX motor had 137,XXX on it when I yanked it out for my B18C1 swap. The GSR motor had 14K on it and now has 26K and running 100%. My 91 CRX had 143,XXX on it when I swapped in the B18B1 last month. The stock motor burned oil pretty bad and I was glad to get it out of there.
