I have no serial port for dataloggin will this work?
I have a new computer, but I guess dell figures serial and parallel ports are obsolete. I was wondering if this setup would work for datalogging uberdata or crome. It is a IOGEAR usb to serial adapter connected to a max233 on my ecu.

Yes, it will work. I had to do the same thing on my old Zdyne Gold ecu and my Compaq laptop. The funny thing was the Comp USA guy said "They don't make a serial 9 pin to usb adapter. You will never have to adapt the two, it doesn't happen!" so on the way out I strole past the Palm Pilot section and all be damned'. there it is.
