trying to decide on which digi cam to get...price range is around $350
hey guys i am trying to decide which digi cam i want to get. So far i am thinking about either getting the canon A95 or the canon Powershot s1. Which one do you guys think is better? Are there any more you suggest?
my buddy has the a95...i personally like it alot! pretty good bang for the $$!
...i played with it a little bit, not to much, so i cant really give u any hard info. Its a good camera IMO tho!

i have a powershot a80 and i love it, i dont know anything about the others, so im not real help but the powershot series are good
i have the a80, and while its not the bling of the g6 to the slr, its amazing for what you can do with such a small cam. My settings blow *** though, how i have them set, yet it still takes great shots.
I suggest anything from the a80-a95-g5 (used) -g6 (outta price range)

do the powershots have long exposure, manual focus and the ablility to add filters and pro-lenses? Im new to the game too, and I am lookin to spend about the same. I was lookin at the sony DSC-W1, looked koo????
from my experiences, sony sucks ***. day time shots are okay but the night shots are 99% grainy.
I trust the Canon's though. I just picked up a Powershot on friday. I'll take a few pics today and post them up tonight when I get home.
BTW my sony p72 3.2 mp camera is forsale if anyone is interested. it will come with a 256mb memory card also.

You should definitely consider the A80 (or if you can't find it, the updated A85). It is definitely one of the best bang-for-your-buck camera out there, and it competes with one of the best digital cameras out there. You might not want the A95 as it simply gives you more megapixel but has more noise. 4mp is really all you need unless you need large prints.
Here's a site I found after I bought my A80: http://albert.achtung.com/cameras/A80/index.html
You might wanna check it out as it has a really indepth look at the camera.

No love for the a75. I love it still. The one thing I liked a little bit more about the 75 over the 80 was the bigger screen. But the flip screen is really cool. I have no complaints about my camera, but really as long as you go Canon you'll be happy!

from what I understand on dpreview.com, only way to get rid of it is photoshop.
they claim its the best bang for the buck for that price range but I think I will return mines and save up more pennies.

You can get an A95 with rechargable batteries and a charger, and a 256MB CF card (will hold just under 100 pictures) for about $400
