My 90 Civic LX Sedan Sticking Caliper Saga Contunes
Well I'm about ready to get out the gasoline and torch!!! In summary, I've replaced my rotors, pads and calipers.
The driver's side caliper keeps sticking. I've lubed up both pins in the caliper to make sure they are not sticking and I've bled it good. The rotor spins when the piston is pushed back in but as soon as I step on the brake it sticks.
I've ruled out the master cylinder because wouldn't both sides be sticking if it were bad? I think it is the hose. What else could it be? Thanks guys.
have u tried driving it? the way the disk brake works is that the rotor has a little bit of wobble and when it wobles it pushes the piston back like you do with the c clamp. make sense? try driving it.
I tried driving it before I changed the calipers and the pedal was almost on the floor the whole time and had a squeek in it. I guess I could try driving it and see but I wonder why the passenger side is spinning with no problem both before and after applying the brakes??? Thanks for the suggestion.

It sounds like you haven't bled properly, if the pass side is still spinning(in the air) that means your system is full of air....bleed all 4 corners then get back. Sounds like your drive side is working fine.
If the pedal is still on the floor then you got air.....do you have anyone to help you bleed?

Oh yeah I've bled it. The pedal to the floor issue was before I changed the calipers. The pedal is fine now. It's just that the rotor sticks when I push on the pedal and release it. Back it in with a c clamp and it spins. Step on the pedal and it sticks.
Is it harder to push the piston in then the others?....you might just have a seized caliper...this has nothing to do with the slider. It shouldn't be super hard to push the piston back in.
edit ...neveer mind saw you replaced the caliper...reading is not my thing today

Figured it out with a friend that works for Honda. The passenger side is the drive side and the driver's side will not pull until necessary. He held onto the passenger side rotor and walla, the driver's side spins.
