help!: high idle at 3k
i just got my motor started today and it idles very high at 3k. it will not even drop after the car has warmed up. no vacuum leaks. is there a difference between the an obd1 and obd2 b series throttle bodies??? i have an obd1 throttle body on my type r motor. can this be the problem???
check throttle cable tension. to make sure that throttle is not the problem then try to start the car with out the throttle cable. the idle should drop.

1) The Fast Idle valve isn't causing this.
2) There is not a difference in ODB1 and 2 throttlebodies. (aside from the fact that some years have a FITV and others don't.
- I would verify that you've got the harness plugged in right. A common mistake is to switch the MAP and TB plugs.
- also, try unplugging the IACV and see if the idle drops.
