Default engine help

I need some suggestions about this motor. I'm working on my friends 87 crx the old carbureted motor. His dad replaced all the little things like: spark plugs, spark plug wires, Distributor cap and the pcv filter. The motor will crank but won't fire up. I just need some more suggestions of what i should do. thanks

It's been a while since i played with a carbed honda motor. Check the external coil (5th wire on dizzy cap) and the ignition module (inside dizzy). Are the two fuel filters clean?

Are the spark plug wires hooked up properly? Did the car start before your friends dad touched it?

yes the wires are in correct order. His dad and I got the motor running 2 months ago. Nothing has change in those 2 months when we weren't working on it.

Those motors used a mechanical fuel pump on the engine. Sometimes the diaphrams would dry up, making it not pump. They are cheap and worth a shot if you're not getting fuel.
