93 Prelude Issues
Started having some problems recently with my 93. I noticed at times the idle would jump (RPM gauge would bounce). Then after I fill up with gas, the car did not want to start. (had to wait like five minutes, then it started) Next, the gauges would cut out while driving. The RPM & speed gauges would drop to zero, the go back up while driving. Last night, the gauges did the same thing. But this time, the fuel, time lights, etc
... started to go off & then back on. I parked the car and it hasn't started since.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I can help you with the not starting issue. On my 93 Prelude I had the same problem with it not starting after I got gas etc. The problem was the main relay for the fuel pump. Replace it. As for everything else not sure.
for your gauges..sounds like a loose connection or just one of the normal prelude issues...the 4th gen gauges trip out and go bad. ive had so many friends need to replace them.

When you replaced the main fuel relay, did you have to use one the universal kits, or did you find an oem relay? None of the local autoparts stores have any relays for this car. Dealer Maybe? Rather not use a universal kit if avoidable.
Dealership for the relay it will save you headache in the future. I dont know why everybody is afraid of the dealership. When you replace parts with aftermarket junk, then have the same problem in 2months you say oh it cant be that I just replaced it. You get what you pay for
Typically would go dealer for something like this, but unfortunately dealer is closed. Looks like I will be taking a chance driving the mustang to work tomorrow....talk about car issues.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Replaced main relay...no dice.
Cracked lines loose at filter and getting alot of fuel spraying at me with the key forward.
Car starts, but dies the second it starts ....possibly the ECU?
Just curious if ECU took a crap and this may be what the gauge issues are related to.?. Serious gauge problems right before the car quit starting.

If the guages are dropping like that I would think
the ignition switch would be a possibility.
Then again, that wouldn't effect your fuel, time lights etc.
You could test the ignition switch and the vss.
Also make sure your battery cables are intact and not corroded.
Good luck
