Default Crower or Skunk2 Turbo Cams vs. Stock B16 or ITR Cams

Hallo,

just a question for a friend of mine:

dose aftermarket turbo cams (like crower or skunk2) make more power then stock b16a2 or itr cams?

is it the money worth?

we plan a big setup so the only point of interest is the performance.

Thanks
Malte.

i would think since they are aftermarket cams for turbo, they would make more power than stock. who would want to buy cams that make less power than their stock b16 cams?

I run CTRs in my b16a3 at 6psi and it runs great for the money. however, in my experience, stock usdm cams seem to make better power than the ctr cams... I have no real proof to substantiate this however. go with itr or ctr too save money or just chill with stock. my opinion.

the ctr cams should be making more power than b16 cams. they are bigger cams. depending on ur setup and if u tune them will dictate how much more power they actually make. u should at least hear vtec much louder with the ctr

There are Hotrod cars with Gsr cams making over 1000hp. I would save that money for a very nice exspensive turbo.

I´m the one, who wants to have them.
I think we have e relativ good setup, and wonder if it is worth or in how far we will benefit from that camshafts.
The setup:
B16a sleeved wit Darton-MID
Arias pistons
EgaleRods
5main girdle
Full-Race manifold
Garrett GT30R
3"Downpipe up to the end
tial38mm WG
complete Crower Valvetrain ( planned 9000+rpm)
head ported and polished with momently stock camshafts
Edelbrock VictorX manifold
750cc INjectors
2.5" chargepipe
HKS SSQBOV
ITR diff.
Clutchmaster stage4
Porsche Brakes
Management is a kind of Hondata, but it is developed by a friend (mrx)
and all the little things people need.

What do you think, will we benefit from Crower Turbo cams?
We hope to be the first that hit 500hp on Honda here in Germany :-)
Possible for daily driving? :-)

yes u will benefit from them, but there may be a better option than those particular cams...im not positive on the specs, but definetly better over stock. a bigger cam on a built turbo motor will let more air in and out which equals more power. as for daily driving it, u should chech how the idle is and low end power on those cams

Till now, it makes no power. I just bougt most of the parts and our blocks are still on the way to ERLPerformance. The cams are nearly the only things we are not sure about.
But I thinks I will buy them.
