I know the lobes have different profiles but how can I tell the difference between the b18a and b18b cams? is there some kind of stamp or mark that will tell me?

back from the dead but i need this info as well. im getting a new b20 later and i might as well put b18b cams in. i already have a blox type r replica intake mani and other goddies to put on my motor. you cant go wrong with 20$ cam upgrade even if its only 3-4 hp thanks

 

what type of b20 are you getting? b20z cams are supposed to be the biggest. b20b cams are tiny. i cant belive you bumped a 04 thread, i just replied to a post like this like 2 days ago.

i have to sets of b20b cams that have about 9mm lift on the intake cam, and a b20z cam that has ~10. according to the BC website b18a/b cams would be between these 2.

to be honest mr jcushing, im trying to buy a usdm 99-00 b20z from a local motor dealer that probly doesnt know or never heard of any other b20. are these cams in this motor better than switching to b18b cams which i can get for 20$ i never relized there were so many diffrent specs on all the different b20's from heads to cams to pistons. i just want to get the most for the money im spending right now.

note...sorry for the 4 year old bump but i been trying to do my homework before i hand over my hard earned cash. i figured why start a new thread when this one was already set up.lol thanks man

i already said yes, b20z cams are the biggest non vtec b cams
