$1700 worth it?!?!
1st gear is the same, but all the rest i believe are shorter so you can land in higher rpms.
I have a question for you guys though. Vtec in our GSR's engages at 4400 rpms. i know that for a fact. How come people say you can't land in vtec in between shifts on a GSR tranny? I haven't pushed my car hard lately, so i can't tell but from what i remember i land around 6000 (i think a little below). That is well above 4400 rpms, which means i'm still in vtec. Are people talking about when the secondary butterflies open in the intake manifold? I'm a little confused.

The higher lift and duration cam lobes engauges at high 4000's or low 5000's I believe, which you cannot notice at all, one time I was able to hear the pin clicking.
Then at 5750 the secondary intake runner in the intake manifold opens up, thats what you acutaly notice. You can't feel anything, you just hear the pitch of the engine change. Usually you when shift at 8100 in a GSR you drop out of the secondary intake runner stage by a few hundred rpms, with a type R you redline at 8300 and stay in the secondary intake runner stage.

So if you can't feel anything...then it doesnt matter? Its just the sound then.
And also, type R's don't have secondary intake runners since their intake manifold are single runners.

gave my brother a demonstration the other night.
what is the lsd for anyways i need to know by wed though with the response... i need to know what im buying!! thanx
im sure others can ellaborate on that. if you have Gran Turismo2 at home, you can read about the different kinds of LSDs..heh heh
but yea, 1700 is a VERY good deal
if you're interrested in getting rid of your GSR tranny, consider it sold...

lsd also helps distribute the power to both wheels more evenly ( if u ever watch people at the strip when they launch alot of times only one wheel will start spinning) an LSD should help get both of the wheels spinning from what I know. (which isnt alot but oh well)
