Ran into a problem when changing brake pads...............
I took the caliper off so i could use a c-clamp to push the piston back in, but the piston is stuck. That sucker is stuck! i tried everything i could think of to push it back in, but it wont work. I even took the whole brake line off. Any suggestions?
Take the caliper off and push the piston back through the other way; then after you get it back out, use the c-clamp but be sure to apply equal pressure all the way across the piston (clamp something like an old brake pad across the face of the piston) so all sides of it go down evenly...this will prevent it from getting stuck again. Good luck...been there, done that
Dumb question but is it front or rear calipers ?
Front, use a big *** channel lock pliers to push piston back.
Rear calipers, then you need to turn it with scew driver or needle nose pliers.
