Default Evaluation of my RS

I just picked up my RS today. Its the slow as hell auto package unfortunately.
1. It has torque which is good for city driving
2. The Auto tranny shifts a bit rough and it seems to be "confused" at times
3. Its kills civic EX's
4. After owing this car for 10 hrs I just realized how much nicer the accord is
5. It doesnt lean as much as the accord
6. The top end seems to die after 6000rpm

Okay this may seen redundant but what I/H/E combo will "pep up" the top end of this car? Any constructive criticsm is allowed

Comptech or AEM CAI
Comptech or DC 4-2-1 header
ITR muffler and custom 2.25" exhaust.
This would give you about 17-20 whp.

4-1 header, iceman cold air intake and a custom cat back exaust. You'll lose a bit of low end torque but the top end end will be much nicer. It will pull until 7k rpm.

Go with a good 4-1 if you are looking for more top end power. Try changing the trans fuild, it may help out with the rough shifts.

My evaluation of your evaluation:

1. I used to drive an auto LS. Civic EX manuals ARE faster. You are faster than Civic EX autos though.

2. Bolt-ons probably won't do ****...the tranny is the thing holding you back.
You can do I/H/E and some other things and you will won't ever be better than low-mid 16's. Stock auto B18B integras are 17 second cars.

Oh yeah and...
3. You can do basically all the boltons in the world and a stock manual B18B teg will still walk you.

Don't be discouraged. I suggest you skip the bolt ons, and go straight for a turbo. You will DESTROY a lot of cars on the street with a boosted auto LS. Beef up your tranny with an upgraded torque converter and you'll have a great turbo'd car. With the automatic tranny, you won't loose much boost at all between shifts, and you can do a brake stand and start building boost off the line. You will easily be in the mid 13 second range with a good turbo kit (Rev Hard, DRAG, etc) and upgraded tranny.

Well you could always swap from auto to manual tranny if you want to make the car perform better. It performs a whole lot better with a manual tranny. Of course if you go turbo then that would be the other route from bolton's. For bolt on's definately the #1 should be a Cold Air intake (AEM CAI...) - which helps with the high end. Second would be a 4-2-1 header to keep the torque, helping the low and mid-range. Though if you want your powerband to be at the top end the 4-1 would be recommended (...at the expense of low end power though..). As far as cat back exhaust's...it's wide open, not really top end or low end systems.

use this car as a daily driver and a grocery getter... don't invest/waste a lot of money in it....

pickup a cheap beater that you can fix up and do all that crazy stuff too...

<----- has a nice daily driven turbo teg that is sometimes a pain to drive in traffic!
