Default Vtec sound is wierd

I have a fully built ls/vtec and when vtec kicks in it's not even that loud. I hear other peoples fully built motors vtec and theres is real loud. Is it because my 2.25 collector and piping?

when its all loud and kicking hard the that means your are dipping in power before vtec

That's the only header I know that makes good power, good ground clearance, no mods to crossmember and some other ****. Only thing i needa do is take out a/c which most likely i might do sooner or later. So basicly whats going on with me is very good right?
