I'm trying to get things together to go the turbo route. For those turbo freaks out there I have a question...

How much boost can the stock B16 crank and sleeves take without warping or cracking. I was just going to get rods and low compression pistons and either a Drag or Full Race 500HP turbo kit. For engine management I'm going to use the Hondata S200 with boost option and for fuel an upgraded 255 fuel pump, 550 injectors, and fmu. I want to run maximum boost without spinning a rod bearing or cracking the sleeves. The engine work is going to be done by a mechanic, so hopefully no problems and everything will be torqued to spec. If not I'm just going to have to kill my girls uncle.

I searched and got nothing. Dont flame.

 

With a good tune and a properly assembled block I think you would be ok to 350whp or so and still have something that should last a long time. More power can be had but the risk of it blowing up becomes much greater (a bad tank of gas = kaboom). There are some guys that are pushing 500+ w/ stock sleeves, but there are a whole lot more that have blown there engines up with much, much less whp than that - due for the most part to lack of good tuning...

You suck at searching. I found like 3 pages typing in "boost" and "b16". This thread has been beat to death, search again.

 

With stock sleeves and stock internals you should be safe at about 300whp (please don't ask us how much boost that it, nobodys going to tell you)
Add some rods and pistons i've seen as much as 450whp, 400whp if it's a daily driver just to be safe.
it's all in how much you trust your tuner and your tune.

What is this ****? If one flames we all flame?! People who know nothing on this forum act like they know everything.

As for D15, I am a "noob" with FI, so there for I ask these questions. Isnt that what this place is for? Instead of for people to talk mad crazy ****. Most of you people just criticize on other people anyway. SO what the ****. Maybe I just didnt feel like searching and wanted FRESH feedback. That search method does nothing for me. So I DONT use it. If you dont like it, **** it.

 

The search didn't do anything for you cause you don't know how to use it properly.. There is so much information archived in these boards as well as new info being posted everyday... If you have a question, chances are someone else has already asked and that is why people flame away... Especially with a question as general as "how much boost can a stock b16 take?"... Just learn how to search properly and you can learn a lot... I was a member of honda-tech and just sat back reading for months before i had a question i couldn't find the answer to or something worth contributing... good luck with boosting your b16...
