Default Rim Tables, car artist at work

I had this extra Konig rim sitting around for a while and I'm also into industrial art. So I decided to make a rim bed side table out of it to go along with my snowboard table. I just wanted to know what you guys think, and if people like them I was thinking about making some and selling them.

Sorry about the bad pictures I will set up my tripod and snap some better ones very soon.

i like it but those tables could prolly get real expensice...for instance take a high quality rim such as mugen spoon gab work etc.

and you prolly have like a 500 table

but i like the idea

See thats what I was thinking, but what I'm going to do is buy the "Extra" rim that people having sitting around. If its a little chipped or a bump on the back so it doesnt hold air it will still work for this project.

So if I do start making these I'm going to make a WTB thead for single rims, lots of people have one rim sitting around. Plus they are just bolted on so if you want to use a diffrent rim or something you can just unbolt it.

I was thinking around $150 depending on the quality and size of the rim I use per table.

I think I'm going to make a 22" into my kitchen table.

Thanks for the kind words guys!!

I think maybe in the future youd want to put the bigger wheels on the bottom so it won't be so top heavy and it might break

See thats what I was thinking that it might be top heavy but the bottom is pretty large ( As large as the rim its self ) and its pretty hard to knock over.

HONDAofPOKY that would be pimp, post it up if you ever get it done. Thanks for the props man!

cool, more so art because you couldnt sit anything on there..

might be tight with plexy glass in the shape of the rim, like a round top so you could see the rim underneith, and still use it for a table..

nice!

Looks good.... Set something on it and take some pictures. I want to see if people are right or not.

Someone already made a Block table on here, it was dope.

I think the 22" kitchen table would be cool, but I would think 2 rims would be better for that.

Also, is that just a stand from a restuarnt table for the table?

It's been done. Many shops have these type of tables using 24+ inch rims. It works better if there are tires mounted.

Well I dident say that I was the first or that I invented "Rim Tables".

The base is off of a candy manchine. I'm just going to weld up some if I make more.

I also wanted to take a hub and a disk break and then bolt the rim on to the hub then weld the hub to a stand and put glass over that.

Hahha why do people keep wanting me to set things on it? I will for the other pictures.

It would be really cool if you left a hole through the center cap, and made a table with a lamp that came out the middle. That would be really cool. If it was around christmas i'd ask for the damned thing for a present.
