yea, the fmax spools up quick especially in 2nd and 3rd gear where you get great power all the way to redline. 1st gear lags a little though. If you floor it you get full boost at about 4000 but then it screams to redline though especially if you set the vtec point up high like 5800. if you leave it where it is stock there is a big power dip at about 4800.

ive got the maxrev manifold a t3/t04e stage 3, .63 a/r, 57 trim turbine.. 2.5" straight downpipe and a apex'i silvia i/c on a b16a.. the problem is just that i ran out of money to build the motor so i can only run 8psi instead of the 20 that this setup is supposed to be using..

damn 20 psi.....i wouldve gone w/ 3in dp-piping... and your i/c may cause your lagging as well...ur only boosting 8....when u go higher the efficiency does too

gotta keep mah AC man, i live in houston so i had to go with 2.5" downpipe... i/c pipe is 2.25 in and 2.5 out. its not bad as long as i race people starting at 5000 rpm, only takes a half a second or so after i punch it to get full power

My turbo kicks in at 2800 RPM and makes full boost at like 4000 RPM Lag sucks, but when the turbo makes max boost,

i have a .48ar t3/t4 on my sohc, i start spooling around 2500 and have full boost, around 10psi, by 3200-3500rpm. Once vtec comes on in 1st gear the front tires just light up!! even on sticky tires and good pavement.

turbo lag sucks dude. Just really sucks. Getting the right size turbo for your car is soo important. Why would you only want a turbo that performed only above 4500? I get full boost by 3200-3500...awesome low end power. I can go up any hill in 5th gear without downshifting. Pass anybody on the freeway..without ever downshifting. Just floor it and spool...power. Its just soo much more fun to drive.

Try driving around a mitsu eclipse turbo....then you will understand why a quick spooling turbo kicks ***.

YES! Spooling fast is a big plus. That is why with my D16 I chose a T3 60 trim, with a .48 exhaust housing. I want to hit boost at about 2500 and hit full boost around 3300. If it is lower rpms, then great! Longer time in boost = more fun!!!!

If you're talking about a stock Eclipse, one thing that sucks about that low spool, you think that all that low end *omphh* is good but once you go ***** to the wall you'll find out that the car doesn't have very much *omphh* at higher RPM's
