I was looking at the intake plumbing on my 95 EX, and noticed that big water catch can and extensive twists and long tubes coming from the actual intake to the filter. Anyway, I was wondering if there would be any benefit and what dangers there could be to removing all of that plumbing and shortening it to about 5 in infront of the filter box?

 

Just remove the whole thing, there is a box behind the bumper. It is basically just to keep noise down

I did this to 94 ex and added a drop in K&N, you will get colder air straight from the fender well
