they make stupid little keychain things... thin piece of metal... a battery... it heats up... stick it in the lock.

personally ive never used one, but if its fairly warm out... like above 15 degrees i'll just get a cup of boiling water.

 

Here in Boston I use WD-40. It melts the ice nicely. Try to lube the locks once a week, this will prevent it from getting frozen.

 

Use WD-40 once a week and they won't refreeze

 

If it is indeed the lock that is the problem. Heat up your key with a lighter or small torch and stick it into the lock.

If it is the linkage and such, then spray wd-40 on it any which way you can.

thanks guys...the gf is pickin up some wd-40 and some of that lock de-icer ****.....i appreciate the help.....

 

Lock de-icer works just ****. Only problem is the one time I needed it, and it was in the car with all my tools and misc. eother **** .
