Default ITR swap wiring questions

I'm sure this has been asked before but couldnt find it in the search. I have a 99 dx coupe thats I'm about to do a ITR swap in. I've been told I can either get the ITR ecu, a rechipped 96-00 sohc vtec ecu or use a rechipped 99-00 civic si ecu. which is my best option. I;m sure the ITR ecu itself would be the best but they are hard to find and expensive. would it just be better to rechip one instead? and also what wiring harness do I need to use?
thanks

You can use a 99-00 Si wiring harness. You can run a 00-01 ITR ECU with immobilizer removed or convert to OBDI and use a chipped P28 ECU.

i would use a 96-98 ex wire harness and run a jdm itr ecu (p73). this way, you dont have to go through removing the immobolizer or buying a conversion kit.

Its not a good idea to run a P2T ECU too long because your B18C will run lean.

Your '99 civic is obd2B while the '96-'98 civic is obd2A.
You cannot use the obd2a harness in your obd2b car without rewiring all of the ecu pins.

Get a '99-'00 harness.

What year harness into what year car?

The only thing I'm not certian about is the year it switched over from obd2a to obd2b. It was either '98 or '99. I think it might actually be '98.

I've had to repin the ecu connectors on a '99 accord for a '96 ecu and all but 1 pin had to be moved. Not fun.

you have to remember. with the ek harness, its 1 piece. as long as you get the right year ecu, in this case an obd2a ecu with the obd2a harness. it should work.

But....
The other plug that plugs into the ecu from under the dash has all the wires in the wrong location.

What harness and ecu did you put into what car?
Just curious.
