Exhaust before turbo?
Hey I have a 97 Integra LS.
Now I am going to go turbo next spring, but for now I was thinking about boring out my throttle body, and port matching my IM, for some more improved flow, and maybe a little extra power. Do you think I will feel a bit of a difference doing this?
The second thing I was planning on doing for now was also put on a 3" cat back exhaust so I can already have 3" for when I go turbo. Again I'm doing this now, just so the engine can breathe a litte bit better, and for just maybe little more power, even though not much at all just for now while I'm NA, the ls is slow
lol
Now if I buy a 3" cat-back exhaust will I be able to use that for when I go turbo? If I can should I then when I go turbo run straight pipe and weld it on to the 3" cat back exhaust I already have on or just get a hi flow cat and bolt it on, Im sure the straight pipe without no cat would give me the best results?
Thanks

3" is overkill for a NA car like ours. if you're going to get the exhaust now, you should just wait to install it. that, or just buy the 3" exhaust after you buy your turbo setup.
i agree........id just wait until after you get your turbo to go 3"! .....besides, what if something happens and you dont get the turbo, but you already did the 3" exhaust which is overkill for NA?
you and me are in the same boat, friend.
I was thinking of putting it on there just so i could sound good.
bad idea. it sounds like... civic. civic ***.
not hatin.
plus you will lose power. why lose power?
buy it when you need it and install everything at one time. save your money until then. you never know when you are gonna need it.
I just found out i need to drop about a grand on surgery, so if i went ahead and bought my 3" exhaust, id be **** out of luck for a month.

Yeah I guess I should wait to put it on until I get the turbo parts.
What about boring my tb and port matching the intake manifold? Will i feel a bit of a difference?
Thanks.
