Default are used headers o.k.

i know a guy that wants to sell me a used mugen header(9kmiles) for 700 bucks. it dosn't sound like a good deal to me, but i dont know how headers deteriorate over time/use. anyone have any input on this? is it worth it?

It depends, you'll have to see pics of the headers to verify condition. Also look for dents in the btoom collector. If bent it's definitely not worth it. Also make sure their true Mugen headers. I don't even know if they'll make more power than DC Sports headers. If this is a b series I am selling a new DC Sports 4-1 ceramic header. It has never been used. Selling for $280 shipped. You can view pics of it at http://s8.invisionfree.com/MS1...x.php. Registering is free and takes a minute. Thanks.

they are true mugen and they make alot more hp than dc(for a header). there are no bends or dents. that stuff i know to look for. im talking about normal use wear and tear.

If there are no obvious imperfections then you should be OK, but $700? That seems a little high for a used header even if it is a true Mugen.

The only things that would really deteroriate over time would be the manifold and collector gaskets. If you checked the manifold out and it is the real deal, no dents or scrapes, you should be in good hands. Make sure you shine a light through and check each of the tubes too to be sure that there aren't any dents that would alter exhaust-flow.

if your looking to spend that much for a high HP header get the best of the best

http://www.bisimoto.com

his headers can be bought here

http://www.exospeed.com

brand new one for a b-series is aroudn 600bucks but is well worth the money and is hand crafted and designed by the genious engineer bisimoto himself

they make them for the H22 also, does anyone have dyno of a bisi header on a h22? i know they picked up well over 10% on a stock D-series with a baseline of 108 it made almost 118 after the header so i can on soo basing it off that i think it should be naste on a h22

only reason you dont see it much on any motors is bc they are kinda pricey and they are relatively new to the public, but hey you can set the trend, if you goto http://www.bisimoto.com and read about bisi himself you will learn he has the fastest all motor sohc in the world in the past hes gone deep into the 10s and next season should go even even lower probably :-X not only taht he has a degree in chemical engineering and is a major player in headers and carburation with his extensive knowledge of fluid dynamics

btw how much hp does the mugen and whatever else claim to add?
