you don't really need to. The fiitings are made to seal without the tape.

They should seal fine without anything... Sometimes you can put just a dot of pipe dope on the male side of the fitting on the threads being very careful not to get any on the inside... It doesn't really act as a sealant. It is more of a lubricant to prevent galling of the metal on metal friction caused by the two threaded ends as you tighten them....

be sure that you get double flare piping and fitting, cause if you don't. it will leak.

If you seal with Teflon tape, it will not leak for a little while. However, Brake fluid will eat through the tape and find a way out. If you do use teflon tape you are inviting a brake failure on which ever side of the car it was used on, either the entire front system will go out, or the entire back system. All this basically means is that not only should your brakes not need teflon tape, IT IS DANGEROUS TO DO SO!

I work in an auto parts store and we sell brakeline and attachments. In all of our maintenance manuals it tells about the dangers of using teflon on brakes. Teflon can eventually corrode b/c of brakefluid. Since Teflon is used to fill in holes caused by the metal not fitting flush, when it corrodes it will open up those holes again and let your brake fluid escape out the hole, leaving you with no braking power for the front or the back, which whichever end the teflon is on. This is why brake fittings are made from collapsable brass, it seals itself. If it doesn't, you need to get a new fitting.

The brake line circuits are driver front - passenger rear & passenger front - driver rear; therefore, bleed the circuit that was exposed to air.

I'd do both since I'm already there
