Default Another security idea, pin switch on ebrake?

I was thinkin about it today and the pin switch for the hood is a great idea and I don't see a way to get around it. If you don't know what im talkin about it's a DEI product that you wire to your alarm and when you arm it, it sends a bolt/pin through a hole in your hood latch so that when the alarm is armed the hood can't be popped. Well if you are like me and always park with your ebrake due to habit, I think it would be a good idea(i plan to try it soon) to wire up one of these same switches to push a pin through somewhere under the ebrake lever when it is in the up position, so that when the alarm is armed, the pin is through it and they can't put the ebrake down. I'm sure this can also be done on the gas or brake pedal too but I haven't really looked under my dash to see if you would have to make your own bracket around the pedal assembly for the pin to go through or not. Just an idea for another security device.

Your thoughts?

It's a pretty good idea.

Try to do simple, but clever things like that to layer your security. Before when I used to mess around with cars, I made a few things:
1. Your A/C button had to be down/on for the car to start.
2. Your seatbelt had to be buckled in to start the car.

Stuff like that.

pretty good idea. i remember a saying by lo **** in the shadow warrior books - "the first one to give alarm should be the first one to fight, car cant fight so car alarms are useless" basically that hits on that everyone in society today ignores car alarms anyway so if i could buy something like your talkin about without the noise id totally get it. except its possible to drive/drag it away with the e-brake on, perhaps the pedals would be necessary as well. innovative idea though. funny how its always the teg owners thinking about security...

shamoo how did you wire the ac and seatbelt thing?

did you just splice the wire to the starter/starter wire or what?

that is so true. my friend set off my alarm at a busy wal mart parking lot. NO ONE EVEN BOTHERED TO LOOK. He was shaking the car for at least 5 min trying to set it off then kicked the tire and that finally made it go off after 10 min of trying. and he said no one even looked or did anything about his abnormal behavior.

might be hard to conceal the solenoid, I'm not sure how large it is. And you would have to make sure it kept the lever high enough to work, since it has a lot of useless travel.

I think a good idea would be something the prevents your clutch pedal from going down? I would actually like to know how you got the car to start only if the AC was on.

Well the clutch pedal thing.....you can use an autolock. Very common, but also quite easy to get past.

The A/C thing. Well the A/C isn't actually on (it can be), but think of the button as simply a switch, which it is. When it is ON, then it allows the car to start. It has nothing to do with the air conditioning system.
