TOTALLED my new RSX
Well, i had an unfortunate incident last night, what started out as a drive out to snap some photos of my car, ended up with me no longer having my car anymore.
What basically happened was, i entered an unmarked hairpin, i had never driven on this road before, unfortunately it was unmarked in the direction i was traveling, no corner markers, no speed limit signs.
So I stupidly assumed it was just a slight bend in the road, once i got around the bend a bit, i realized that was not the case, slammed on my brakes, and then slid off the road, through some dirt, and then flipped over roof first into an emtpy canal.

Well I mean theres no speed limit posted in the direction i was going, i was traveling about 45-50 mph, the speed limit was 35 it was posted coming the other direction (this was not found out until we were looking around after the wreck). But I assumed it was a straight road, it bent around a bit, but it wasn't anything to drastic, nothing to make me feel that i was going at an unsafe speed, then it hairpins right around the bend, this is a blind corner mind you.
i did this a few weeks ago. same thing, a sharp *** turn with no kinda of signals or anything and it was hella dark outside. luckly i saw it in time and just slid into the curb. didnt really mess anything up. but good to see your alright... i bet it was a tid bit scary.

thats ******* gay...glad youre okay though...sorta the same thing that happened to my homie and his white rsx...except he went over a cliff
sorry about your loss man.
i hope everything works out.
that sucks man.. it must have been your first time on a twisty road/canyon/pass/mountain/that kind of road thingy right?
yeah, if you ever drive on a road like that again, one of the first things you learn is not to judge corners before you know what they are.
i'm guessing you thought it was what you thoguht it was, entered too fast, and then you said you hit the brake.
that means you trail-braked (big no-no) and the rear end skidded off the road or something i guess. or under-steer.
whatever it was... just be careful up there man.
if it was a blind corner, (which i'm sure it was), you have to wait till you can see the exit.
Sorry about that though.
Good luck man.

I know i definetly could have been dead, I am thankful i had my seatbelt on. Definetly scared the **** out of me. It was more shock than anything, I couldn't even tell you what was going through my mind as soon as we landed on the roof. As we started sliding i'm thinking ok ok ok, then i saw the canal and i was just like, no, no, no, and then bam. I still can't even believe that it actually happened, it sucks, this was my baby, my 1st car actually purchasing everything on my own.
Insurance is taking car of it already, their going to basically pay off the car. Then i'll start looking for another, not really sure yet what I want to get, definetly considering another rsx, but this time its going to be used. Still not sure yet though.
