how the heck do i...
lower my muffler so it doesnt rattle against my bumper support. I have a MTL and the elbow going back into the muffler vibrates against the bumper support causing the most annoying sound EVAR, and worst of all is causing damage to my MTL! I read somewhere that you can simply place an object in the middle of the rubber hanger to extend it. any ideas what to use?
wierd!. is this a real MTL? of the fake ones from EBAY? supposedly they work fine with clearance. but what people put is a piece of PVC coupling from Home Depot insert it in the middle opening of the hangers and use zip-ties to hold the coupling in place so that it doesnt fall off, and vioala, your hangers are longer, it should keep some gap, or distance and prevent the bending pipe from hitting the bottom of your car. dont have a picture, its somewhere from this site I found on how to. but its easy.
^That's exactly what I was going to suggest. Put a thin piece of PVC pipe in the middle of the rubber hangers.. it makes them longer and hangs the exhaust lower.
thanks for the help guys! yeah its the real deal, its the US version so the tip has, what 2 or 3, rings on the tail pipe. hopefully i can get some pics of my 00 Si soon to actualize the reality of my exhaust know as the MTL! haha jk (but not about the real mugen part).
