drive axle replacement ?
about how long does it take to do a drivers side driveshaft replacement with 2 guys and all tools on a 94 accord ex (manual), i'm looking for estimates here not exact times
i took me about 45 minutes to do my passenger side, but 15 of that was waiting for my dad to come back from the auto parts store picking up some oil for me since i couldn't driveto the auto parts store in my car and i was covered in grease from the busted cv boot.
my drivers side took me about 45 minutes too, but about 30 of that was spent trying to seperate the old axle from the halfshaft. i finally got it with the help of my roomate pulling on the axle while i hit the crap out of the old axle with a hammer until it poppped loose.
its very easy, i recommend investing in a two jaw gear puller. it makes separating that lower ball joint very very easy.

on my EF it took about an hour....once you get the axel bolt off its pretty much cake, but on my axel bolt..ohh...had to put a cheater bar to it...air wouldnt get it off. The cheater bar was, hmm, about 12 ft. long and 3 in. diameter. lol
Sorry to jack the thread but i'm trying to replace my rotors and part of that process involves removing the drive axle nut.....How the hell do you get that off of there.....what size socket is it....I have tried to use a vice grip and a steel pipe but that isn't working and i'm afraid if i go any further with it then i will strip the nut....HELP....

If it's anything like the 4th gens, it's almost easier to just undo the LCA to frame bolt, radius rod to LCA and sway bar to LCA. You can then get enough play to move the LCA out of the way to let the axle be removed.
It's a few more bolts, but I'd take that over separating the ball joint anyday. Well, maybe not now that I bought a special tool to do so
