Default D16Y8 cam seal ?

Can a cam seal be replaced by just removing the pullywheel or does the camshaft have to be lifted ?

You can leave the camshaft in. Just take the plastic cover off, valve cover, and take the cam gear off.

You can't just take off the cam gear, you first have to loosen the crank pulley. Just like you are replacing the timing belt, which requires a "special" crank pulley holder to loosen its bolt. There are alternative methods to using this special tool, but most of them end up saying to just go rent/buy the tool.
