I know this may sound really wierd, but I need someone who lines near Whitier or Bell Gardens who has a digicam to takes some photos for me.

I live in Tennessee. My father, whom I have not seen in 25 years lives in Bell Gardens. I would be most appreciative if someone would stop at his house and take some pictures of him. I have only talked to him once on the phone is the last 25 years and I have no pictures of him newer than like 1979.

Would anyone be willing to do this for me?

 

why don't you just have him mail you some pictures or something? Or how about just going to visit him?!

And after what he put myself, my brothers and my sister, and my late mother through, a picture will be enough for me for the time being.

I am not posting this up to open for discusion my f'ed up childhood. I am merely asking for someone to do me a favor.

Even though I am not a post *****, I have been here for a few years. And in that time I have come to realize that H-T, for the most part, has a lot of good members.

I know there has to be at least a couple people near Bell Gardens, who are decent and on this board.

 

I can see how you would want to see your dad...but I dont see the purpose of this thread. Does your dad not have "friends" with cameras? If your dad doesnt want to make the effort to find a camera to snap a shot of himself to give to you...then i dont think hes worth our time.

I work in Bell Gardens, but I don't know if I'd feel comfortable just going up and asking to take his picture for his estranged son. If he lives in Bell Gardens then there is a 99% chance of him being a messican, and they look at me funny since I'm white.

werd.. who doesnt have a camera now days???? at least at disposable one.

 

Bell Gardens is a very poor area. I could understand someone not having a camera.

 

That would be a little awkward. "Hi you don't know me. I'm just going to snap some pics of you real quick and be on my way."

 

Thats what I'm saying. And my Lucky #13 tattoo on my arm doesn't usually go over too well with the SoCal Latino gangs that are quite prominent in good ol' east LA.

 

We were poor. He's still poor. And not that it matters but we are all white.

I don't really know him that much and I certainly don't know who his friends are if he even has any so I would have no idea who does and doesn't have a camera.

Look guys, I knew from the outset it would sound weird. And he hasn't made any effort really to get a camera or pics made because I didn't make a big deal about it when I talked to him on the phone for the first time in 25 years.

The point is this: The fact that he has no pictures of himself, does not have a camera, and he's white living in a poor latino neighborhood doesn't matter. I don't have any pics of him. I am 2000 miles away.

Is someone willing to help me out or not?

 

I fyou can talk to him and have him come to my work, I'll bring my camera and help you out. Again, i'm hesitant to go to him though. I'll be gone over the weekend, but if you can get ahold of him and he's willing to come to my work, I'll be more than happy. Tell him I work off Garfield and Gage.

just call him again.. ask for a pic.. if he doesnt want to then well that should tell you something.. im pretty sure if he wants you to have a pic of himself he would manage to get one and send it to you..

You're missing the point. Are you asking us to secretly snap pics of him or are we just suppose to go over there and be like "hi, i'm here to take a pic of you for your son," or are you going to inform him that someone will be coming over on a specific day to take a pic?
