just let it run til the rpm drops from what it is when you first start it. Usually a minute or two. The only reason to let it run for 5+ minutes is to 1) waste gas 2) get heat.

i don't drive my car till my rpm hits 1k.????? plus the manual says you get better gas mileage when running a warm engine.
