a clutch question on my GS-R tranny
I have a 1996-98 GS-R with a S&S stage 2 clutch and 8 lb aluminum flywheel. It is slowly but surely going out after a year which isn't too bad. Right? The only thing I complain about is, that at the signal to get going, I have to rev my car up to 2-3 rpms which wastes gas and sounds gay. I have people telling me to change my clutchspring to a softer one. Will that help my problem? What other clutch brands do u guys recommend? Should i just use a ITR clutch and keep my aluminum flywheel. Do i have to get an aftermarket clutch to like a stage 2 to drive my car hard? Because I heard my aluminum flywheel helps on top end alot esp the way i drive. I launch my car alot wen racing as well so i do need a heavy duty/high performance clutch but something that can be daily driven.
The Action 2KS is a great street/strip clutch. Engagement is smooth and linear like stock, but it can still handle hard launches.
i run it against other integras, preludes, civics, RSXs, VWs, other sport compact cars. I usually race from a launch so a good clutch is very important. I go from 0-100 if we have enough space with the adrenaline rushing through my body.

Unless you have a fairly well built turbo motor or something along those lines.
