Default air/fuel ratio gauge stuck! on rich!

94 honda vx with c1 swap , i just recently installed an air/fuel ratio gauge. i had a shop do it for me. but for some reason the gauge is stuck on green.! im guessen it's stuck on burning rich! cause my exhaust fumes are black when i shift and when i normally drive..! where is the air/fuel ratio gauge suppose to be spliced into.?

if its staying on green all the time i don't think you hit the right wire, it supposed to be the white wire on the o2, and if you did put it on the white wire, sometimes it takes a little while to heat up the o2 sensor to properly work on the gauge

what type of gauge is it, autometer?, I wouldnt trust anything except fjo wideband sending unit and o2 sensor. the vx's have the 5 wire right? if so, thats the one i run with my fjo. My autometer a/f gauge always showed me rich while in boost and when i put it on the dyno and used a wideband i was dead lean and i was using a brand new o2 sensor right from honda with the a/f gauge. just my $.02. find someoe locally with a wideband and pull some street runs to actually see where you are at.
