Can Wires and/or Caps Cause a Code 1 (O2 Content) CEL?
I went to the mechanic today and talked to them about my problems with my car. I dont know **** about electronics, sensors, ECUs etc so I felt it safer to take it to them then to start screwing around with stuff I know nothing about. So the mechanic looked at my stuff and he said he didnt have time to check out my O2 sensor, but he said that shouldnt be the problem becuase I just had it replaced like 5 months ago when my car was throwing codes for that.
So he suggested that it might be from my wires and/or caps. I have never replaced them on my CRX ever. I dont think that they have ever been replaced. I have about 1 year old 35,000km used NGK spark plugs so I dont think that they are a problem. Should I just replace my wires and see what happens or is the mechanic totally off the mark?
