Default Help! Car Won't Start!

i'm having problems starting my car. i've got a crx with a gsr swap. the battery is at 12.5V and we even tried jumpstarting it. checked all the fuses under the hood, and they're all good. basically, you just turn the key, and hear one click...

here is a little vid of it:

(just click on it)

make sure the connections to the battery are tight, so as grounds.
if not its most likely your starter taking a dookie

do you have a remote starter? you can check it like that, it hooks power straight to the starter and then starts it

your starter should make lots of clicking noises if it's workin right and theres another reason it wont start.

SO, first thing I'D check would be that all the wiring TO the starter is connected properly and in good connection.

also double check all your grounds.

theres a thin black wire that goes to the starter, you can test the starter by jumping the battery dirrectly to that point, put the ignition in the on position and connect a wire from the positive terminal to the starter, it should crank ur car.

if not, it's prolly fubar, if so, then it's probly a problem in the starter/ignition circuit.

what do you mean by "jumping the battery directly to that point"? can you elaborate a little more?

that sounds like the starter

try to manually start it or push start the bitch

manually start meanings: use a screwdriver and touch the power cable on the starter and the housing which is ground of course make sure u have the key to the ON position too

if this doesn't work or nothing sounds better then what u get then the starter is a good point or area to look at

last night, i got the car to crank by having my friend banging on the starter with a hammer, but then then my fuse blew. this fuse blew about a week ago too. i'm not sure if that has something to do with it either...

here's a pic of the starter. i can't quite make out the words on the denso tag. can anyone tell me what car this is from? i'm still guessing 90 integra since it should match my tranny. i have a 90 crx with a 98 gsr engine...

i went to pep boys to try and find a replacement starter. but they didn't have it in stock. (btw, they said that i needed one to match the tranny.)

so afterwards, i went to napa, and they actually had the 90-91 integra starter. we compared it with the one i took out, and it looked like a perfect match. so i went home and put it in, and it started right up, with no problems.

so thanks to everyone for their help!
