i bought this transmission from a shop near my house saying that it was a crx si trans. but i compared my trans, which has SL3-5110759 printed on it, and my friends, which has L3 - XXXXX. and his tag is in a totally different spot. it doesnt seem to want to go into fifth gear either, which makes me believe that this is a 4 speed tranny. any help would be apreciated, thanks

 

if it won't go into fifth then it's probably an std trans. search trans. codes in this forum only. i know there are a couple of threads that describe the different stamps on the casing above the pass. side axle that denote which tranny case it is, mind you internals could be swapped.

 

most SL3's are from 91 DX - tag is on top instead of on front by engine designation - no way to tell if it is 4 speed by looking at outside - if it won't shift to fifth, it may not have fifth

I got a L3 trans, what axle do I need I got the one that came inmy civic but they to small for the trans.....
