Ok, well for the ease of performance/swapability I would go with a 94-95 accord ex. It will have all the options you may want (power locks, windows, sunroof etc) and is also OBD1 versus an older err newer car 96+ are obd2; it tends to make swaps and add-ons more of a challenge.
NTM there is typically an abundance of 94-95 accords with decent miles; going for approx 4-6K leaving you with some money to play with (suspension, swap if wanted, wheels etc)
