Default Rotating wheel weight

I've got a 4th gen accord that I bought and it came with a set of 14" OEM Mitsubishi rims (looks like from a mid '90's eclipse or lancer) it's got some inexpensive Yokos on them.

I don't know if I should be more concerned with the tire weight or the wheel weight. I would think 14' alloys would be pretty light. don't know about the tires.

I don't want to buy a new wheel/tire package if I don't have to.

Does this sound like light rotating mass to y'all?

14" steels are probably around 17 lbs.

if you're concerned with weight from a component viewpoint then you have two separate considerations. if it's unsprung weight you're looking to reduce then its the total of the combination not just one of the two. if its weight reduction for the purpose of acceleration then it's more complicated. the angular acceleration of the wheel is follows this formula..
a=T/(mR^2)
where a=angular accel,T= torque, m=mass, R=radius

if you have the values to plug in, have fun!
i suggest you stick to metric values, kilo, meter, sec.

Not 14" steelies. 14" 6 spoke alloys - cast

Simple answer. Tire weight

The farther away from the pivot point (in this case the center of the wheel) the greater the effects of rotational weights.

Well these are Yoko AEGIS LS4. Anywhere I can find the weight on these? Links?

no idea. The manufacturer would be able to list the weights, or go to a Vet and use their digital scale (what I do)

Omg, that's hilarious. What a great idea!

That's how I weighed the original pulleys on my car against the new ones, and the flywheels too. Just gotta ask nicely.
