Default CAI and check engine light?

ok i just installed a cold air intake on my 94 honda civic ex... 2 days after i installed it my CEL came on and so i did the whole jumping check thing. i get a code 43... would installing my intake give me a code 43? i have heard some people say that there light comes one when they install a CAi but a few days later it goes off.. is this true? i tried everything to reset my ECU and still nothing happened, still coming on. just wondering if this is normal or if i should go get it checked out. but not really wanting to pay 70 bucks to have HONDA check this. just curious if this has happened to anyone else or if its even related to my intake. i searched for this and found nothing, so sorry if this is a double post.

I wouldn't think that the fuel supply code would have anything to do w/ a CAI.

this happend to me. my engine light went on and i noticed it was ideling a bit faster than usuall. i took it to honda and they said that my cai must have sucked something into the iacv. but they always make aftermarket products scapegoats for anything that goes wrong with ur car if u have any kind of mod

ok i didn't want to take it to honda and be down 70 bucks... that 70 bucks could be used elsewhere. i was just wondering if that happened to anyone before what code they were getting? i dunno, that light just bugs me more than anything... i read in my service manual that it could be a vacuum leak, so i replaced the vacuum hose and clapms that came with my intake... and still nothing happened. just very annoying. and i tried some fuel injector cleaner, still nothing. but like i said, my car is running perfectly fine. nothing is acting funny at all...

maybe its ur gas cap. on some models if u don't click it at least 3 times ur engine light comes on and if u do fix it it still stays on for a day or so

flash your ECU again and see if it comes back. if and when it does check it again to see if you are getting the same code, and make sure you a reading the code correctly when it is flashing. putting an intake on should not make you throw a cel.

ok did the test again i think i get 43. honestly it only looks like 2 blinks b/c they blink so fast but i am pretty sure its 43 and i know it doesn't blink 5 time to make it 45. and i saw that there isn't a 42 on the list so that narrows it down to one answer. well thanx for the idea and everything and if u have anymore i would be glad to try them. if anything just to get that darn light to shut off.

alirght just took it in to a friends shop and his dad checked it out. he got a 41 which is O2 sensor heater... he just said its colder than normal and that could be why its coming on. but he also said being how many miles are on my car it could be b/c of the o2 sensor so i think i am gonna try and get a new sensor and see what happens... but thanx for all your guys help and i really appreciated it... THANX A lot
